Georgia 104-5 and Mitchell EMC congratulate this month’s Home Town Hero, Joe Najjar.
Joe Najjar served 20 years as a U.S. Marine Corps officer, specializing
in Assault Amphibian Vehicles, with assignments at Camp LeJeune,
Brunswick, Albany, and Okinawa.
After retiring from the Marines, he devoted another 20 years to Albany
Technical College—first writing operator manuals and developing training
for local industries, then supporting the Albany Tech Foundation Board
and coordinating major programs like GOAL and the Rick Perkins Teacher
of the Year.
Beyond his career, Joe has given more than 40 years of volunteer service
to Scouting America. He and his wife, Eileen, have guided countless
young people, and today their grandchildren continue that proud
tradition.
He’s also a dedicated member of the Exchange Club of Albany, recently
honored as Volunteer of the Year, and serves on the Albany Area
Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee, the Marine Corps League, and
American Legion Post 30.
For his lifelong commitment to service, education, and community,
Mitchell EMC and Georgia 104.5 proudly recognize Joe Najjar as our
Hometown Hero.
