There’s a Heat Advisory in effect in the Albany area until 8pm on Friday July 21st.
The City of Albany, with the assistance of Dougherty County, have activated Operation Safe Place to give people a place to cool off during the day.
Water will be provided at each location.

- Henderson Gym, 701 Willard Avenue, Open Friday 6pm to 8pm
- The Albany Transportation Center, 300 W Oglethorpe Blvd., Open Friday 10am to 5pm
- The Dougherty County Public Library Central Branch (Downtown), 300 Pine Avenue, Open Friday 10am to 6pm

- Tallulah Massey Library Branch, 2004 Stratford Drive, Open Friday 10am to 6pm
As temperatures will remain dangerously high over the weekend, we will update this page with information about weekend Cooling Centers if we receive it.
Stay safe, stay hydrated! Check in on your neighbors, especially the elderly and those with small children. Also, remember this heat is too much for pets to be out in for long periods of time. Make sure they have plenty of water in their bowls!
