It’s going to be a steamy weekend!  Our local municipalities are working to help keep residents cool.

On Saturday, July 15th, the City of Albany, with the assistance of Dougherty County, will activate Operation Safe Place to give people a place to cool off during the day.  Below is a list of locations that will be available to anyone needing a break from the heat on Saturday and the times they will be open.  Water will be provided at each location.

The Albany Civic Center, 100 W Oglethorpe Blvd, 11am-8pm

Henderson Community Center, 701 Willard Ave, 10am-8pm

The Albany Transportation Center, W Oglethorpe Blvd, 10am-2pm

The Dougherty County Public Library Central Branch – Downtown, 300 Pine Avenue, 10am-5pm

The Northwest Library Branch, 2507 Dawson Road, 10am-5pm

The Southside Library Branch, 2114 Habersham Road, 10am-2pm

Tallulah Massey Library Branch, 2004 Stratford Drive, 10am-5pm

Westtown Library Branch, 2123 Waddell Ave, 10am-2pm
